As the recipient of the Alberta Museums Association’s (AMA) 2023 Robert R. Janes Social Responsibility, the Galt will be hosting a workshop on social responsibility that is open to the community. The focus of the workshop will be “Understanding Place: How We Build Meaning in the Spaces We Occupy.”
Roundtable participants will include
Elder Ninna Piiksii (Chief Bird), Dr. Mike Bruised Head;
Api'soomaahka, artist and co-founder the Kainai Ecosystem Protection Association (KEPA) and Napi's Garden;
Charlene Bruised Head-Mountain Horse, Indigenous Relations Advisor with the City of Lethbridge;
Melanie Morrow, Vice President of the Métis Nation of Alberta Local #2003 and Elementary Indigenous Education Teacher with Lethbridge School Division; and
Darrin J Martens, Aaká óóhkotoki (Many rocks), CEO/Executive Director of the Galt Museum & Archives.
