Stephnie Watson on Community and Visibility

How important is having a supportive and positive community? Stephnie Watson (they/them) describes their experience as a student, educator, advocate, and federal political candidate who identifies as an a-sexual, a-gender, panromantic person in southwestern Alberta.

Stephnie is an environmental science professional who educates and advocates for science and evidence-based policy and legislation that is inclusive and accessible for all peoples. They use their drag (Killa Watt), political and social platforms to achieve the goals of creating a more inclusive and accessible future for all. They reside as a settler on traditional Indigenous lands in Canada and are actively committed to the Truth and Reconciliation calls to action.

The Galt is grateful to the subject-matter experts delivering online content. As local professionals and knowledge experts, these presenters add valuable contributions to the local discourse; however, their ideas are their own. The people featured in the videos and those behind the scenes followed best practices to protect their health and safety.
